Mini 3 Pro Arm Axis Replacement Guide
The Mini 3 Pro has four folding arms, each with a precision hinge axis that allows the arm to fold flat for transport. These hinges are vulnerable to crash damage and can crack, loosen, or seize after heavy use. A damaged arm axis causes arm wobble, motor vibration, and in severe cases, arm collapse during flight.
Symptoms of a Damaged Arm Axis
- Arm feels loose or wobbly when locked open
- Arm does not click firmly into the flight position
- Visible cracks on the hinge body
- Excessive motor vibration on one arm
- Arm folds back during flight

Step-by-Step Replacement
Step 1 — Power off and remove the battery
Fully power off the drone and remove the battery before starting.
Step 2 — Identify the damaged arm
Test each arm individually. The front arms fold forward; the rear arms fold backward. Identify which hinge is faulty and note whether it is left or right.
Step 3 — Remove the arm shell
Each arm has a two-piece shell. Remove the screws along the arm length and separate the shell halves with a plastic pry tool.
Step 4 — Disconnect the motor cable
The motor cable runs through the arm. Disconnect it from the main board before removing the arm. Note the cable routing.
Step 5 — Remove the hinge screws
The arm axis hinge is secured to the drone body with 2–3 screws. Remove these and slide the arm out of the body socket.
Step 6 — Install the new arm axis
Slide the new arm axis into the body socket. Secure with the mounting screws. The arm should fold and unfold smoothly with a firm click at the open position.
Step 7 — Reconnect the motor cable
Route the motor cable through the arm and reconnect to the main board. Ensure no tension or pinching when the arm is folded.
Step 8 — Reassemble the arm shell
Reattach the shell halves and tighten all screws evenly.
Step 9 — Test before flying
Fold and unfold the arm several times. Power on and check for motor errors before flying.
Important Note on Front vs Rear Arms
The Mini 3 Pro has different hinge designs for front and rear arms. Front arms use a forward-folding hinge (AT00004), while rear arms use left/right-specific hinges (AT00005 and AT00006). Order the correct part for the arm position you are repairing.
